Repair Artifact Skill
It takes a special kind of mind to see and appreciate the finer detail
and beauty in things. Unlike everyday objects artifacts often have subtle
details that affect their function. Imperceptable to the untrained eye and
mind, the tiny filigree runes on a sword might be the key to it's power, a
hairline fracture on a crystal globe might be the difference between a
useless crystal ball and a window into the lives of others, and even still a
single brushstroke on a painting might be the lock that binds a demon to its
oblivion. Those with the ability to repair artifacts can recognize these
details and with their advanced skills of repair can make them whole again.

Repair Weapon Skill
The veracity with which any good weapon eventually becomes useless is
a testament to the need for weapon repair. If you want your sword to slice
again instead of bashing, then it's time to find someone disciplined in this
skill.

Reptilians
( Reptiles )
( creation )
Reptilians are sometimes considered humans if it weren't for their skin.
Reptilians are as tall and tough as humans, but not as coordinated.
They are not stupid, able to learn either arcana or piety spells, while
also able to be acceptable fighters. Reptilians have the natural ability
to breathe under water, while also having a unique scaley skin which
thickens with age.

Rescue
A rescue is an attempt to make a monster hit you instead of the person
being rescued. You can only 'turn' one monster for each attempt. This is
a nice skill to have when playing in groups.
Usage:
rescue <friend>
Example:
rescue <?= %randPlayer() ?>

Research And Xresearch
The RESEARCH command will look through the entire help database for any
entries whose keywords list contains the provided keyword. The XRESEARCH
command, on the other hand, will look for the keywords in either the help
entry title or in the body of the help text. See the following example:
Usage: RESEARCH <keyword> <keyword> <...>
XRESEARCH <keyword> <keyword> <...>
The RESEARCH and XRESEARCH commands are especially useful for tracking down
help on the topic which specifically interests you.

Role Playing
( Roleplay RP )
At Carnage we are now strictly enforcing role-play rules to make the
game more cohesive and thematic. Roleplay means that when you create a
character you try to maintain that characters persona in your dealings
on the MUD. This specifically impacts players for the following
scenarios:
- You CANNOT initiate an attack against another player unless you
have set your roleplay description via the login menu. Once you
have set a roleplay description it will take one hour for it to
become active. This is to prevent players from switching mid
play to suit their mood. You will be held accountable for pkills
not matching your roleplay description.
If you have NOT set a roleplay you CAN still be ATTACKED by
someone who has set theirs.
- When you kill or attack someone, you must be role-playing the
attack. You may not just "for the heck of it" attack another
player. That said, if you are role playing a paladin, obviously
you can go ahead and attack an evil demon. If a thief has stolen
from you, then you may kill the thief. If you are role playing a
thief, then you should not be engaged in combat until you are
attacked. Violators will be beaten upon by the immortals
themselves. Some have asked if they can roleplay "kill anyone
anytime" and to this I say yes, but if you are found grouping
with any other player then action will be taken against your
character.
- You may not drop equipment or gold, log out, then log in with
another of your characters to pick it up. If you do this, the
equipment or gold in question will be purged -- this also goes
for giving stuff to your friend to hold while you switch. You may
sell equipment to a store, as you may also put stuff in the
stronghold chests. You may not subsequently log out and switch
chars to reclaim the equipment. A few real hours would be deemed
a suitable amount of time to expire to indicate that this was not
a ploy to transfer equipment.
- If someone kills you via pkill, or you just happen to not like
them, you may not switch chars to attack or hunt them down. If
you do this, the char you switch to will be purged.
- If you have been logged in for some time on one of your
characters, you are free to switch to another character, even if
that character's enemies, or your own are logged in. However, you
are not free to immediately go and attack such enemies and you
are not free to hunt them down or position yourself
strategically so that after a time you can attack them with
advantage.

Rules Of Gameplay
The rules for Carnage are fairly simple and straight foward. Behave! Would
your mother be proud of your actions? If not it is probably the same here.
Here is a simple list of the rules which by no means encompasses everything
but does give an overview of what is acceptable.
- Absolutely no racist, homophobic, or anti-religious comments over
OOC. The only racism and anti-religious comments allowed are those
that pertain to in game races, and in game religions.
- Always do as immortals ask, and respect them. They devote much
of their time for free to improve the MUD. Disrespect is one of the
worst offenses you can make.
- No Multiplaying. NONE. (see help multiplay)
- Adhere to the rules of Role Play (see help role play).
- Follow the rules of commune. Do not curse, beg for equipment, or give
game data over commune (see help commune).
- Please report bugs with the bug command as you find them. If you are
caught exploiting them, inexplicable bad things will happen to you.
- Finally BEHAVE. It's not that hard. Just act like a civilized adult.
After all this is just a game.
