Lerges

Lerges was one of the first towns established in Ark'num.  It is formed primarily of humans, elves, and dwarves.   The town expanded quickly as it supplied resources to the castle west.  This growth came with a few conflicts its people had to endure regularly.   Expanding west into the woods disturbed the trees of the Whispering Woods.  The dark magic in the woods fueled the creatures to retaliate.  However, the woods have been held back with the strength of the West gate.  Furthermore, its growth caught the attention of vampire hordes.  Lerges struggled with vampires until Serlon formed the mages guild.  He trained soldiers, villagers, and anyone willing to fight back with magic.  By the time he migrated away to his tower in the west, the magical defense was astounding.  But without his direct involvement in teachings the mage's guild slowly faded in strength.  

Eventually the castle west was overtaken with evil causing a decline in demand of Lerges' resources.  This combined with the numerous attacks against the town led to the town's size to decay.   The decreasing footprint in Ark'num led it to be a more peaceful home.  

Travelers wanting to venture here will find three main paths into Lerges: below the dying tree off the foggy trail and south,  south of the Furlough farms and west along the dirt path through the fields, or east of the Whispering Woods.

Letter Mailbox Mudmail

Most of you who are familiar with Diku systems are familiar with bulletin
boards. However we also have a private mail system.  

The mail system is very like the board system. You need to buy a letter and
pen. The first line must be the "name" of who you wish to recieve the mail.
All else will be the the message content.  

Commands used with the mailbox:

    put letter mailbox : to send yer mail on its merry way.
    look in mailbox    : to see if there's any mail for you.
    get letter mailbox : to get a letter from your pen pal :)
    get all mailbox    : to get all your pen pal mail at once.

If the target player has used the setemail command to set up their
email address then the mud mail will also be forwarded on to their email.

Levels

The maximum mortal level achievable is 75. This relates to some degree to
the power of your skills and spells. While the maximum level is 75, you do
not stop receiving gains as you continue to increase your maximum experience.
Additionally if you lose experience for dying or fleeing, your level can
decrease if your current experience is less than that required for the level.

Lonely Forest

Lonemountain Lonemtn

This area is west of elven town.  You will find a trail in the forest
at the west end of Glen Livet lane that leads to a bridge.  Follow that
trail to the south and onto the wild river.  It was designed for mid levels

Theme:  An old sage is living at the top of Lone Mountain summit.  Climb
up to hear his wisdom earning treasure and experience along the way.
Some points of interest are the thief village of Grand Marnier to the east
of the wild river.  Also the band of witches (ask Black Talon), the
Isle of Sacrifice, and the Dark Oak Forest which is inhabited by some
challenging ghosts.

NOTE: that if you LOOK AT CORPSE you will not see its inventory.
To see what's inside a container (e.i. Corpse) use LOOK IN <OBJECT>.

Looking at another adventurer will what eq they are wearing, see their description, etc.

Magic Mouth Spell

Mana Cost : 55                Target    : None
Save      : None
Effect    : A yappy mouth of magical substance

This spell can be used to conjure a yappy mouth that will yell out the phrase
it has been keyed to whenever someone enters the room. Keying the mouth to
a phrase is just a matter of providing a phrase when casting the spell.

Example:

    cast 'magic mouth' The north gate, the north gate!

Major Heal Spell

Mana Cost : 100                Target    : victim
Save      : None
Effect    : Major healing to wounded.

Major heal will restore a lot of hitpoints to a wounded player depending on
the caster and their ability. In addition to general repair, major heal will
also cure any physical blindness and remove any ordinary poisons from the
target's body.
