Furlough Mountain
( area )

Continent: <?= %areaGetStat( arknum, continent ) ?>

The Furlough Path leads up the Furlough Mountain.  It's a path the
halflings use for a leasurely hike to see the beautiful view from the top.
Following the path down to the base of the mountain leads to a small village
of halflings.  They've nestled themselves at the foot of the mountain with
homes & farms beside a gentle stream.  The farms are east-north of Lerges
and the Furlough Mountain is south of the foggy trail through the Wetlands.

Gains

The Worlds of Carnage has a micro gain system in place. This is different
from more traditional systems where gains are directly linked to level gains.
Instead for each 1000 points of experience you gain a dice roll is made to
determine if you get a gain. The chance of a gain is related to various
factors depending on what is being gained. For instance practices are related
to your race and you total experience. Primary stat gains (such as str, int,
wis, ...) are related to the stat order (or stat gain odds) you set at
character creation time as well as your total experience. Hitpoints, mana,
and moves are dependent on your existing primary stats and your total
experience. As such this produces a much wider range of possible character
stats for characters of the same ilk. Generally speaking such differences
will fall on a bell curve as many real-life traits do. For instance a troll
warrior with uber hitpoints will be rare in comparison to the average
hitpoints for the same troll warrior.

For what it's worth (players will do anything to try and get an advantage),
killing fifty creatures for 1020 experience each is identical to killing one creature having 51000 experience. Experience not divisble by 1000 is accumulated and used the next time so that players are never ripped off :)

Gladiator Gladiator Mode

While in gladiator mode, anybody that wants to, can try to kill you
without restrictions. That doesn't sound too fun? Don't worry, also
while in gladiator mode, there are zero penalties for being killed
by another player. No loss of equipment, experience or gold.
How can you tell if you are in gladiator mode? Check the who list.
if you see: "Watch your back, it's killing time" EVERYBODY is in
gladiator mode, and will be until you no longer see that message.
If you don't see that message, You can also tell if you (or anybody
else) is in gladiator mode if they have the words GLADIATOR
or LION BAIT next to their name.  Depending on how gladiator mode
has been configured, you may be released from gladiator mode when
you lose (die).  If you do not want to be involved in the gladiator mode,
please stay far away from Elkin.

Glorinsdel

This area is secret.  Ask Ivan the Ironlord in Khazad about it.
It was designed for lower-mid level players.

Theme:  Glorin was a famous Dwarf of ancient lore.  He saved Khazad from
the threat of an evil and powerful Balrog by trapping it over an abyss.
There his remains are kept in a sacred altar.
