Equipment Updates - Phase 1 |
[2005-12-03 13:01:10]
|
Numerous updates have been made to equipment. Any equipment that you currently have will remain the same, however, various items have changed so when items are newly found, be aware they may not be as they once were, or, where they used to appear in the game. There will however be added variety to the loot that's found, and, hopefully a broader range of viable options for weapons. The updates are not set in stone and are subject to change.
There was little feedback from people providing suggestions. Thanks to those who put in the effort. Not all suggestions were implemented, some suggestions were partially implemented, some were taken exactly as suggested. Some previously submitted suggestions are still being considered as they are trickier items to balance, or place.
Equipment should update on zone reload or the next reboot.
Additional changes will be made and we are still accepting suggestions from any and all players. To submit suggestions, drop Wren a mud mail, send an email to wren.the.immortal@gmail.com, or send me a Private Message to Wren on the WoC Forum. |

Spell Change: Rebirth --> Revitalize |
[2005-12-03 00:01:25]
|
The rebirth spell has been renamed to revitalize which is much less loaded
with respect to purpose. The spell has otherwise remained the same, except
vampires may now use it.

Great Experience Race Cancelled |
[2005-11-30 00:53:02]

Due to extreme player discord :(
Also added an experience cap discussion thread on the forum:

Training Pets |
[2005-11-25 14:09:22]
|
I fixed some bugs with training pets today. Their armour should save now and
having better quality when training primary stats on pets won't penalize the
gains on other stats dependent on the primary stat being trained.

Gateway Between Cythera and Cimmura Opened |
[2005-11-20 00:18:30]
|
Powerful magic has been cast in Cythera and Cimmura to create a magical
gateway between the two places. Rumour has it that travel through the portals
is being monopolized at extortionist prices. |

Pkill Adjustments |
[2005-10-11 18:45:44]
|
Death from a PC controlled creature now results in pkill experience loss.
Additionally there is no longer any penalty for fleeing from PCs or from PC
controlled creatures.

Affects to the Second |
[2005-10-10 00:02:32]
|
Player and object affects can now have durations set in the seconds instead
of being restricted to ticks only. This involved a LOT of code changes and so
it's quite possible there will be bugs. With this rewrite in place I changed
the durations for the insanity and sleep spells. They are now defined by
seconds and not very many unless you're high level or have high quality.

Changes to Second Attack and Third Attack |
[2005-10-02 13:07:35]
|
These skills have been reduced in damage effectiveness in an attempt to
better balance damage from warriors in the game. Damage incurred by a warrior
should intentionally be less than that of a mage since there is no cost
for performing the skill. See the help for full details. Additionally the
efficacy of +damage from modifiers has been reduced a bit which places a
stronger emphasis on natural ability.

Bug Fix for Combat Attacks |
[2005-10-01 00:02:41]
|
For those of you who were abusing a bug in combat skills whereby you only
practiced second attack, third attack, and/or dual wield to 60% because it
worked "QUITE WELL", you will now find that the bug has been fixed and your
attacks suck. The bug was that chance for an attack to fire was based on
quality when it should have been based on effective skill. Quality should
then have modified the damage which it did not. Now everything works
properly. I hope you saved practices :)
Remember the golden rule: too good to be true is probably a bug *lol*

Change to 'prereqs' Commands |
[2005-09-25 22:57:54]
|
The prereqs command will now indicate whether you are able to learn the skill
in question. Additionally, if any of the prerequisites are unlearnable by you,
they will be denoted similarly to the following:
[ <black>--<normal> ] <red>evade<normal>
