Stronghold Titles |
[2006-10-24 04:17:03]
|
All strongholds have now been updated so that members can rename them. Additionally, each stronghold's title can be seen from its entrance. Silver Tower also had its member names removed from the listing so that only the title is shown. If you notice any bugs, as always report them :)
In the near future, at least 7 days from now though, ALL strongholds will be updated so that members have to pay rent. I have not yet settled on just how much the rent will be, but it surely will be connected to the number of members and the levels of the members. Ultimately there will be a big collection dish/box/bowl/whatever in each hall and in it you can put your moola. As the need arises each day, the current day's rent will be extracted. If at any time the amount of gold necessary is not found, then all members will be evicted and the stronghold will go into game ownership.
The reason for the change is because Strongholds are part of the game, they are primarily for role-playing group themes. Crusty old players that never log in do not deserve to hold onto Strongholds forever just because the guards are so tough. This will solve the problem because when the gold runs out the Stronghold will be much easier to take. This also helps to address the problem of players having multiple characters in Strongholds since such players will have to cough up the apporpriate gold for each stronghold... or I'm sure the other members will kick them out :B
Consider this your fair warning, in at least 7 seven days the rent will become effective and you should look for something in which to put your gold.

Strongholds |
[2006-10-22 00:41:51]
|
In the next short while Strongholds will gain the ability to be re-titled by their owners. For instance if you don't like "Legion of Doom" you will be able to change it to "Death Dealers". This is already in effect for the Legion of Doom hall, and others will follow shortly. Please keep titles in Role Play or I'll have to smack you around bit :)

Practicing |
[2006-08-29 18:57:37]
|
Holy shit! Some news... bahahaha. Anyways, you can spend away your practices to raise your skills to exactly 99% without losing out in a big way for a few % raise. The system now only charges you as many practice points as necessary. If a fractional charge is necessary then you are charged a full point and the extra fraction is accumulated. When accumulation of fractions goes above a whole number then you will gain a practice on your next kill as though you had just earned it the normal way... this way the practice system retains it's whole number philosophy and nobody gets screwed.

Less Crashes |
[2006-06-10 19:28:47]
|
MUD should be more stable now. Turns out I forgot to up the memory limit
allowed for the server when we switched over to the 64 bit machine and so
with the 64 bit machine requiring more memory we were hitting the limit
and the OS was denying it memory when requested -- this resulted in many
of the crashes.

Experience Gains |
[2006-05-28 02:01:53]
|
I've updated the exp gain system so that gains are more consistent and higher in general-- especially when given level differential and repeated killing of same mob. All players should notice an improvement.
