Filesystem Corruption Issue |

Server had been experiencing some issues over the past week and then it crashed again tonight. Unfortunately some of the player files were corrupt and unrecoverable except via backup. Please let me know if you have any specific issues.

Connection Problems |

Hi All,
If you experienced connection issues over the past few days it's because my ISP decided in their great wisdom to assign me a new static IP address. That of course created a problem because I had to reconfigure DNS and DNS updates can take up to 3 days to propogate across the Internet. If you're reading this though... welcome back :)

Sorry about the downtime this past week. I went on vacation and like a good energy saver shut down all my computers except the MUD server. Unfortunately, there's some inter-relationship between the systems and some stuff queued up and eventually hung the server :)

I've been asked to allow multiplay since the active player base is so small at the moment. Since this would probably be more fun I'm tentatively agreeing to the proposal. Only 2 chars at a time though for now.

Skills Simplification |

All teachers can now teach any skill they know up to 80%. Other skills they already teach will be at least 80% up to max depending on their settings. The final 20% is still subject to the usual channels (quests / tomes).

New Necromancer Skill |

This has been in for about a month now, but I forgot to add a new item for it. Necromancers can now learn the Chaos Cloak spell. This will aid them greatly in combat.

Casting Spells Just Got Easier |

You can cast spells using parts of any of the spells name now. Previously you could only do so as part of the whole name. So before you could do:
cast magic mis <?= @someone ?>
cast magic m <?= @someone ?>
But you couldn't do:
cast mag miss <?= @someone ?>
cast miss <?= @someone ?>
This makes it really easy to cast things like boon of the horse since you can just do:
cast horse <?= @n->realName ?>
