Shop Upgrades! [2004-11-12 13:27:23]
Several shops on the Cythera continent now sell items that are actually
useful!  Scrolls, wands and potions that the average adventurer needs on his
daily journeys can now be purchased in Cythera, Elip and Shayol Ghul.  There
is even a canoe salesman.  Several keepers on either continent have also
expanded thier product line to include artifacts.

Looking to Repair in Cythera [2004-11-10 00:09:04]
Rumour has it one of the gypsies is an old hand at repair. Travel south of
the city if you need to find someone who can fix your equipment.

Spell and combat colour. [2004-11-07 00:21:09]
Spells and offensive combat now have messages coloured. If you fail in some
manner then you will see red. If you succeed then green. If you are just an
observer, then cyan. Skills haven't been done fully, and won't for a while,
but spells have been completely done. So now it should be easier to determine
if your spell succeeded or failed when you have colour turned on. The
colouring should be very consistent, so you shouldn't find it overwhelming.

Experience System Improved [2004-10-13 22:34:52]
There are now less penalities for exp loss. The system is more graduated up
until level 60 when you will see similar losses as before. New characters
should be relatively easy to advance. If you are under level 30 you will never
have less experience than that with which you started the level. If you are
over level 30 then you will never have less experience than that of a level 30
player. This also affects experience loss from fleeing.

Combat Speedup [2004-10-10 00:11:42]
Combat rounds have been decreased from 3 seconds apart to 2 seconds apart.
Some players complained that they seemed slowed down. They had not actually
been changed between premerge and merge server but we'll try them at the new
speed and see how players like it.

Reversed Skill Lag for Combat Skills [2004-09-21 00:01:47]
Many of you will be happy to know that the lag for most combat skills such
as kick, headbutt, bash, etc... have been reversed back to post lag. Many
other skills and all spells remain in the pre-lag order which makes more sense
for them.

Of Ships and Swords [2004-09-19 13:55:37]
Word has it the ship from Latvia to Cythera has just installed a brand
spanking new engine. What does this mean to you? Half the travel time -- Woot
woot!

In other events, Beldramas has been teaching the newbiesword some new
techniques. You'll now find that your trusty weapon can morph into a sword,
mace, dagger or gloves at your behest. Go ahead, ask it about morphing, then
"say morph dagger".

Changes to Spelling Mechanics [2004-09-19 00:27:21]
No, no, no... we didn't have a spelling bee for mechanics that that resulted
in some changes. Rather you can target your opponent during a fight with most
offensive spells without typing in your opponent's name. Additionally, if you
do:

   cast soul strike troll

And little peewee troll walks away before your spell completes, then you will
no longer accidentally target Grumish if he's in th room :) Area affect spells
are unaffected by these changes since targets are ignored for such spells.

Sorry wittle noobies. [2004-09-15 13:17:29]
Due to a bug in calculated exp modifier for mobs, low level mobs were having
their exp penalized by 50% when in fact it should have been a bonus of about
20%. Most mobs will now give better exp.
