Role Playing
( Roleplay RP )

At Carnage we are now strictly enforcing role-play rules to make the
game more cohesive and thematic. Roleplay means that when you create a
character you try to maintain that characters persona in your dealings
on the MUD. This specifically impacts players for the following
scenarios:

    - You CANNOT initiate an attack against another player unless you
have set your roleplay description via the login menu. Once you
have set a roleplay description it will take one hour for it to
become active. This is to prevent players from switching mid
play to suit their mood. You will be held accountable for pkills
      not matching your roleplay description.

If you have NOT set a roleplay you CAN still be ATTACKED by
      someone who has set theirs.

    - When you kill or attack someone, you must be role-playing the
attack.  You may not just "for the heck of it" attack another
player. That said, if you are role playing a paladin, obviously
you can go ahead and attack an evil demon. If a thief has stolen
from you, then you may kill the thief. If you are role playing a
thief, then you should not be engaged in combat until you are
attacked. Violators will be beaten upon by the immortals
themselves. Some have asked if they can roleplay "kill anyone
anytime" and to this I say yes, but if you are found grouping
with any other player then action will be taken against your
      character.

    - You may not drop equipment or gold, log out, then log in with
another of your characters to pick it up. If you do this, the
equipment or gold in question will be purged -- this also goes
for giving stuff to your friend to hold while you switch. You may
sell equipment to a store, as you may also put stuff in the
stronghold chests. You may not subsequently log out and switch
chars to reclaim the equipment. A few real hours would be deemed
a suitable amount of time to expire to indicate that this was not
      a ploy to transfer equipment.

    - If someone kills you via pkill, or you just happen to not like
them, you may not switch chars to attack or hunt them down. If
you do this, the char you switch to will be purged.

    - If you have been logged in for some time on one of your
characters, you are free to switch to another character, even if
that character's enemies, or your own are logged in. However, you
are not free to immediately go and attack such enemies and you
are not free to hunt them down or position yourself
strategically so that after a time you can attack them with
      advantage.

Rules Of Gameplay

The rules for Carnage are fairly simple and straight foward. Behave! Would
your mother be proud of your actions?  If not it is probably the same here.
Here is a simple list of the rules which by no means encompasses everything
but does give an overview of what is acceptable.

    - Absolutely no racist, homophobic, or anti-religious comments over
OOC. The only racism and anti-religious comments allowed are those
that pertain to in game races, and in game religions.

    - Always do as immortals ask, and respect them. They devote much
of their time for free to improve the MUD. Disrespect is one of the
      worst offenses you can make.

    - No Multiplaying. NONE. (see help multiplay)

    - Adhere to the rules of Role Play (see help role play).

    - Follow the rules of commune. Do not curse, beg for equipment, or give
game data over commune (see help commune).

    - Please report bugs with the bug command as you find them. If you are
caught exploiting them, inexplicable bad things will happen to you.

    - Finally BEHAVE. It's not that hard. Just act like a civilized adult.
After all this is just a game.

Save

Save your persona. This includes experience points, strength, gold, etc.,
INCLUDING all your equipment and possessions.  It will remember the
locations of your items when you next enter the game.  USE THIS COMMAND
OFTEN!  If the MUD crashes and you were not saved, you will not be
reimbursed.  Also note that whenever you die you are automatically saved,
so as soon as you get your equipment and money back from your corpse, save!

IMPORTANT: If you are carrying items that are too expensive for you to
rent, the game WILL NOT save your equipment.  It will tell you "Saving
equipment....  Failed!"  If you see this, your equipment is NOT saved.  You
need to drop whatever item is pushing you over your rent limit, then save
again.  You will not be reimbursed if you failed to save because you were
carrying items that were too expensive. When you save you will also see
how close you are to your maximum storage capacity.

Note: This command sends a server log message to the immortals.  Unnecessary
and frequent use of this command will spam alerts to the immortals and agitate
them.

Saxons

A derivative of Anglo-Saxons, the "natives" of England when the Normans
(French/Viking) invaded.  They were treated badly and the land plundered
by the Normans to pay for conquests of other nations.  It was in this
atmosphere that Robin Hood started to fight against the nobles and the
Sheriff.

Say Talk Whisper Yell Ask Communication

If you consider communicating with other beings, you might be understood
better if you start your sentences with either say, tell, whisper or shout.
Example : say I'm a jerk
talk unclesam You're dead meat - sucker!
          talk johndoe Hey there

You can use ' as a shorthand for say, as in:

' hello there.

You can also use " as shorthand for talk, example:

" johndoe Hello.

Other notes: SAY allows everyone in the room to see what you say.
TALK says something to a specific person, everyone in the
room can see what you are saying
YELL allows everyone in your zone to see what you say.
WHISPER only the person you whisper to can see what you say.
ASK only the person you ask can see what you say.

Scelestus River
( area )

Creator: <?= %areaGetStat( arknum, creator ) ?>
Continent: <?= %areaGetStat( arknum, continent ) ?>

The Scelestus River flows from several streams, creeks, melting ice from
atop the mountain, and a current flowing from the underwater caverns.  The
river forms by the mines of Khlaro and runs east to a ferocious waterfall.
Anyone caught in the waterfall will surely be thrown off by the raging
waves and fierce current.  It's a long drop that would hurt even the
strongest adventurer and possibly even result in death.  Following the
river to the end, you will discover that it drains into the Haunted Sea by
the docks.

Level Range: (Low to Mid)
