Having not built up the prereqs enough just yet and because I've never come across one to date to be honest, I was wondering what a tome "is" in terms of: are they use once, re-usable multiple times as you gain extra pracs, rentable etc. Are they typically obtainable only be larger groups of Legends, or can some of the useful ones be obtained solo. Not asking for locations (etc), just a general feel of what to expect when I'm eligable for one. I guess for many of you, usage of tomes is quite common these days, but would be good to know a bit more about them for some of us lesser mortals

Tomes are typically a little harder to get so you would need help. They are also variable in terms of practices you need to use to practice from them, how many times you can practice from them ect.

for example: one of my cleric spells, major heal, is a tome.
Tome was obtainable with 2-3 of the higher level characters and I practiced it at 2 pracs = 20% of the skill. I think it took like 3 tomes to max the skill at 99 %

I think since Ive talked to you a bit that you are a warrior (correct me if im wrong). There is a skill on a tome for u to get at some point =) Something to look foward to

Hope this helps ya!

cheers

Im not a fan of em. I just burned 3 tomes again.
Considering the rl time you spend gettin a mob killed or gathering friends to do a big mob they should have 100% chance to be learned.
Our player base aint that big to do huge mobs over and over and fail at learning skills.

Or the point of new skills is that only 1 or 2 players have em? or never perfect em? I think cause of the time it took coding and the time players invest gettin em we should get a better chance to learn em.

I personally get bored burning tomes and do same mob again and again. We know we can kill it if the right crowd around. But thats the thing, cant ask for help and risk of death 20 times for same mob to get a skill to 99%. We proven we can kill that mob. I think we deserve to learn from tomes all the time, just make random number on how many times.

Thiefs have the worst bad luck streak. Sparkee couldnt learn twin stab nor slit, Tuor took 20 tomes to get slit, 10 tomes for dodge and its at 55% still, and no thiefs got any of the top 3 skills but him, theres no high level thiefs at all. Clerics like Kayenta or mages get is easy cause tomes are easier to get and practiced at 20% they just need 5 succesful times, While warriors who need groundsmash or thiefs with their 3 tome skills get at 11% so need 9 succesful times and the burning increases.

Chance of successfully learning from tome 66%. Before I took pity on you 33%. I'm not increasing it again because you're so unlucky. And the chance is a rote 1d3 dice roll, nothing else modifies it, so yer just unlucky.
