So heres an idea/comment that I'm wondering if it should be addressed ( and chances are this is gonna be babble cause i'm thinking faster than can type =p)

It seems like when you get pkilled you get an exp reset. Is it really a good idea to get an exp reset when u get pkilled? This could lead to explotation of getting pkilled because you could reset your exp and only lose a max of 300k exp. Because Blob lowered the amount of exp we lose when we get pkilled I dont think its necessary to get an exp reset. That reset will quickly make you hole disappear and then some. Its like cheating the system or something.

Idk. What do you guys think? Or am I just totally losing it =p cause thats a definite possibility

cheers!!

There's no reset past 80 million. That's where the real wheat is seperated from the chaffe. The reason for the reset is to make it possible to gain back your exp after dying and to some degree form a bit of poweer equilibrium in the game since peeps who die can still approach the uber players. Either way, it's a known issue that players will intentionally get themselves killed to reset exp gains on mobs. But after 80 million, they'll feel the weight of the climb to 100 million and above :)

The issues is that the exp loss of an intentional pkill reset is much less than that of a death to a mob. The player gets a pretty big advantage losing 180k (thats a joke to get back .. c'mon) and losing 1, 2, or 2.5 million exp.

When I die to a mob, I understand getting a reset for mobs.

When I die to a player, perhaps I should simply get a reset on the exp I get from players.

This would be based on the assumption that killing the same player of the same level over and over would also be affected by the diminishing returns of exp.

Good point. It's a similar issue to what I saw recently when someone was death's door'd and going to die, but rather than die normally, the group members performed a pkill to minimize the exp loss. The issue is on my list, this one too now, but I probably won't fix it right away.

Exp reset that happened before 80 mil either by mob,dt,player, etc. sounded like a good idea to me since you losing exp anyway and you can reset it before 80. I saw no harm in this and its controlled by the new ghost system and losing lives so it wouldnt be abused to get exp resets and level faster. I dont see why u saw it as a threat.

I dont think u get an exp reset by a dt. you just lose eq.

I guess the issue is that it can easily be abused. you dont lose near enough in pkill deaths as to what you would gain from it.
