Wudnt it be nice to have a dodge skill similar to the way halflings dodge some attacks? Evade is nice but it only evades the first attack, dodge will enable the person to dodge some attacks during fight, and mebbe if dodge skill is high enough, u can even dodge some spells like lightning bolts and fireballs and arrows. watcha peeps think?

An interesting idea.

Perhaps this skill could be had by thieves and rangers (withont a TON of prereqs) and extended to warriors and/or BKs (but taking bunches of prereqs).

Dodge could be more for thiefs and rangers, and for warrior bk and paladin a skill named Block. The first one involves stealth to dodge attacks, the second strength to block attacks but since parry already exists i dont think that would be allowed.

Sounds like it but it has a different use, in the end its the same, try not to get hit. But dodge is gettin out of the way of an attack, that needs agility (dexterity) while parry u use weapon to block attacks and u need strong arms (strength).Dif things but same purpose if thats what u meant.

*giggle*
I dont think it should stack because if it didnt then would kinda mahe a halflings dodge, less purpousful .

What you wrote above seems devoid of logic.

what i mean is that if othr classes/races can get dodge , it dosent make halflings natural dodge special. If the skill would add on to their natural ability then their dodge will be better than other races, making thir doght "special" again.

I have a hard time puting thought to words, this still dosent sound right but i dont know how else to say it.

I think dodge should be put on a teacher or somewhere easier and attainable by thiefs and rangers and friends since its who can get it. Its a cool skill but i dont think its that powerful to be in there. I seen mobs use it and while it fires it aint that often to be a mighty super defense. Theres spells or skills more powerful than this and that arent hard to get. Thats just my opinion.

Dodge is so uberly UNfantastic that only the truly dedicated thieves and rangers will bother trying to get it where it is *heheh*. Since it's not that great (by your own admission) then it shouldn't matter whether you have it or not ;)
