I think mabey elves should have mabey 62 wis. Because arent they supposed to have been in the forests for like a cagillion years? passing down the wisdom they have gained over the many years from generation to generation?
Just an idea.
I have to agree with Jigo, elves are more wise and experienced than lets say humans, they both got 60 wis, maybe an increase in their wis base would be good. 62 or 63.

No, they were only in the forest for a bazillion years, so that only counts for .49999999 more wisdom which incidentally due to implementation restrictions rounds down to an extra 0 wisdom

I also strongly agree that we need a race with 71 wis. Elves are the most logical of choices to me, but gnomes would make sense also being that they are so strongly inclined to magic. whatever the choice ends up being, I definately think it could be fit into one of our existing races. And if we think of wise as having existed for many years to have a wide vast range of knowledge, a faere just doesn't seem right to fit that desc, althouth I do not disagree that a faere should have extremely high int and wis. Just my little ramblings.....

Elfs sound to me the logical choice on the existing races. Gnome not, they may be smart but they dont have such wisdom as an elder race. Faerie sound like that cute faerie that followed peter pan, too girly. I wouldnt wanna play a fly that heals.

I like the idea of the faerie race having the high wisdom. I'd rather not see the races we currently have changed in any way.

GO FAERIES GO!

maybe u should swap the max int and wis for elves, since gnomes appear to be the prodigal int race. Or instead of faerie, dryad. Same thing, more or less, just less whatever it is people dont like about faeries.

Agreed with Lisp

As faerie seems unpopular and there have been posts supporting elves as wise, keep existing elves and create High Elf, Noldor, Dryad etc as a high wis elf variant.

Added bonus of minimal coding by copying existing race but just swapping the two stats.

Seems kind of silly to make a whole new race just to change 2 stats. Why not just change the current elf race?

Also, i still say the idea of a fairy race is not bad....they had some nice bonuses on cythera that made people have fun playing them. You would never be a tank, but you could definately get by!

Variant race gives extra choice and am wondering what would happen to existing elves...

Other than the few people who totally want to RP an elf, they'd never get used. It's become obvious that gnome is a better choice for a mage, and, most likely a cleric as no one builds elves when they can make a gnome instead.

Some people in for a shock when racial resistances/susceptibilities go in.

I was only commenting on the current game play of the noble Elven race. Future enhancements unknown the uneducated masses can't possibly be taken into account when providing commentary on the present state.

But, if elves get better, hoorah!

I have played elves for a long time and may be biased but in Murton, Anna and Villa we have two champions and a legend. I also have a veteran Druid. If anyone else wanted to play a Druid I believe the current elf is a valid choice. I can see that changing to high wis may improve the number of new builds and certainly any elf improvements would be great but I think it would be a shame to write off elves as unplayable.
