They have been downsized considerably from the old WoC days. No longer are they a 71 STR/DEX/CON combo.

However, Centaur STR:39 - 66 INT:24 - 55 WIS:24 - 55 DEX:33 - 55 CON:39 - 71 CHR:27 - 51 ---- is a down grade for certain.

Raise the STR to 68, 69 (like dwarves). Or, raise the max dex to 60.

Yes, the centaur kick is particularily nice -but, the lack of leg AND foot gear counters that particular benefit.

There is little incentive for using Centaurs when considering other racial options for char builds. Boost that DEX or STR some, and they become a little more balanced.

Races are not all about specific benefits, to some degree other races exist for the sole purpose of being able to role play that particular race. The mud does not need to be solely about smash smash smash.

The fact that centaurs have powerful kicks, and cannot wear leg wear does make them unique and role playable.

Centaurs were downsized significantly at the merge and I guess I just don't see harm in add 2-3 more max str or 60 max dex.

I agree with Grael on his point of view, Centaur is unique but has no real advantage vs other races. I made a centaur to test it out and it doesnt hit has hard as I thought barehanded and not using leg or feet gear makes it imposible to get max str without sacificing too much. Its good cause of kick and con but other than that I would pic dwarf or reptile over it. Maybe a new item for horses put in.Like a spiked horse leggings or something to give race a unique item. I dont know, just giving some ideas.

I just think centaurs need to be taller than trolls, let them be able to hb some tall stuff and I think that would be neat. I mean a horse with a persons torso has got to be one tall mother

I also agree that centaurs should be taller than they are, thus allowing them to headbut more mobs. Also, you would think of a half horse as being pretty damn strong, yet they only get 66 str.

I just feel that people alway just play the same races....trolls/dwarves/reptlies for melee (almost never orcs or centaurs) Would be nice to see more diversity, and perhaps incentives to play other races would allow that to happen. I dunno, mebbe this will all change once the new racial changes are implemented :?

The body of a horse hardly has much to do with strength. Strength consideration is Torso, which is human.
The horse-body is what makes a con bonus logical.
And am glad to see Centaurs knocked down a few notches from the old Woc days they were bogus ;)
