There used to be a cyth thief skill called shide(im not so sure of skill name). Its just like hide but u can walk around and still be hidden. It seems nice to have back in game i think.

Seems really powerful to me.

Maybe if it cost 10 mvs (multiplied by the terrain modifier) this would be realistic.

why cost movs if the point of the skill is to lie still and hide? walk without sound needs delicacy. I would think more on it costing 1 second slower to move than losing movs

A decent idea to make the walking slower.

There has to be some sort of penalty or else thieves have free reign to pretty much thieve, steal, and sneak attack as they will.

Not with a 100% chance of never getting caught doing it. shide would make it so a non caster could never hit the thief who is doing whatever they want to that player.

There is ground smash for warriors, and most other classes have a room attack available to them. Only ones that might have a problem would be other thieves....but they have their own ways of dealing with things :wink:

Shide would roll for visibility on any action other than moving/looking, and as Luz suggested would make travel from room to room slower.

Like the idea...with each action performed you have a chance of going vis. Perhaps with high enuf quality you will recieve a message telling you the you "feel less stealthlike" or something to that effect.

Also, with I could take credit for the travel slow down thinger...but none the less its a good idea..hehe

Shide has been added to the game. Not quite as described above. Instead it allows moving around while remaining hidden and sneaking. All socials and most commands that would reveal location will unconceal the player. I decided this was powerful enough. Hidden/Shidden creatures can't be targetted except via area spells or having sense life in effect. I thought this sufficient for protecting them.
