Post subject:  Remort

Maybe an idea thats been discussed before, but I thought I'd raise it as a suggestion, as I'm not personally aware of previous conclusions (if any). Ability for a player, on reaching a specific level (e.g. Legend or mid-way through Champion etc), to remort back to level one. In doing so, the player is "tiered", in that the maximum stats that they can achieve are increased (e.g. either across the board by say +1 or within a specific stat [or two] of their choice, lets say +2 or so for arguments sake). Might be an option here that their starting stats are also affected in some way to avoid unlucky roles of the dice. Experience is set back to zero. Lives are set back to 10. Money and equipment would be a discussion point, probably lost as well, however one suggestion would be that the maximum rent for a tiered character would also be increased. One side effect of the remort is of course, the loss of all skills and level, so the character would be potentially "vulnerable" against true RP style PK until they've worked their way back up through the ranks to gain their saves (etc) again. People have spent a significant amount of time investing in their chars to get to the serious upper levels, so the result of the remort would need to be worth it in the long long run. Perhaps access to a restricted skill or two, access to dedicate skills with a non-dedicated character or the master option in Graels post...

A fair amount of work needs to go into properly coding racial immunities/ susceptibilities, but far down the line is th eidea that remort would allow you to evolve into a more advance race once you get to a certain point, then you would essentially start fresh on the new race which would have different stats but generally a bit higher, not to mention the bragging rights on the who list ;)

The whole reason players such as Poros, Hygrale, and Jabberwocky exp'd so much prior to the merge plans being defined ... the dream of a "remort".
