forgive me, I'm just a dumb troll. You want that guy headbutted? I'm your (wo)man. You want things understood? Don't ask me. Anyway, I am curious about some of the other classes out there and how the primary/secondary dedication works.
For instance - cleric. I once befriended someone who expressed interest in training in the ways of piety.
What is the benefit of being cleric/cleric? If one is cleric/cleric can one learn spells that a cleric/warrior (or cleric/mage, cleric/thief) etc does not have access to? Or are your spells stronger/longer lasting? Both? Neither?
If she is cleric/cleric is she ging to be able to actually fight at all or will she be relegated to standing in the background of groups and healing? How would she best adventure on her own? Is she better off being a gnome or elf or halfling or whatever? What would good attributes for her to be blessed with? Int? Wis? Str? Other?
Thank you for making this dumb troll a bit more smarter. I will be sure to pass on whatever info I can understand and perhaps she may grace our fair lands.
I have many other long last friends I may be inquiring about in the future. :)

If you'd prefer to email me I can be reached at akecheta.carnage@gmail.com

Hum, I may be able to help with this since I have both a pure cleric and a mixed. The benefit of being a pure class is that u get extra rewards (i dont exactly remember what, but its something about the pracs and percentages and something... ). Pure clerics are great for groups because all they do is heal. For fighting on their own thought, well, they really cant. They have few-no offensive spells. I know my pure cleric needs a group to exp.
My mixed class char however is pretty good (and I know some of u are sitting there atm and want to slap me....) She can fight pretty well and she can heal. She is good in both a group and by herself.
In terms of picking races and such... cleric is based on piety, which s based on wisdom. So you would want to pick a class that has good wis and good int. For a mixed class you would probably end up getting some combat so you would want to focus alot on con and wis, and some str.

Hope this helps!

cheers

Allskills cleric lists the spells available for a cleric and anything marked with * can be gained by either a cleric/cleric or a dual class where cleric is the major ie cleric/warrior. However * spells cannot be gained for a minor cleric, ie warrior/cleric

A cleric/cleric would have a quality improvement of 15% over a dual class cleric/warrior etc, and any 2nd class skill such as headbutt would receiver a 15% quality penalty for the dual.

Even with these bonuses a cleric/cleric has limited offensive power and I think would struggle in combat. I agree with Kayenta that combining a cleric with a fighting class can be very effective.
